Frequently asked questions.
Answers to the questions owners ask first, about working together, choosing the right support, Fractional COO Leadership, and the Business Check-in.
Before you book
In 30 minutes we discuss where your business is today, what you want to accomplish next, and what is getting in the way. Together we determine whether SCALE is the right fit and which type of support may make sense for your business.
Growth-minded, owner-led service businesses across the United States, generally within the $1 million to $10 million revenue range, with selective opportunities beyond that range.
A consultant usually studies the business, hands over a report, and leaves. Through Strategic Advisory or Fractional COO leadership, we stay with you through the work so the change holds.
Completely. Financials, team matters, and anything else you share stay between us, and nothing is used as an example without your written permission.
Yes. I work with owner-led service businesses across the United States, primarily remote, with in-person involvement when it is appropriate and agreed.
Choosing the right support
That is the normal starting point. The Business Check-in or a complimentary conversation is the easiest way to sort it out. From there we recommend the level of support that fits, or tell you honestly if none does.
No. The assessment is an optional entry point, and the advisory options are not required steps. If the need is already clear, we can move directly into discovery and scoping. If the underlying need or the right level of support is less clear, the assessment may be the better first step.
In an advisory partnership I provide perspective and decision support while the owner and leadership team retain operational ownership. As a Fractional COO I step in as a part-time executive, lead across departments, and take responsibility for defined operational outcomes.
Strategic Advisory ranges from a focused assessment or 90-day partnership to an ongoing relationship. Fractional COO engagements are scoped to what the business needs: some companies need leadership through a defined transition, others benefit from an ongoing relationship.
By the level of support your business needs. For Strategic Advisory, that means an assessment, a focused 90-day implementation partnership, or ongoing advisory support. For Fractional COO Leadership, it means the executive mandate, time commitment, and level of authority required. We discuss the options during your complimentary conversation.
Fractional COO
A part-time executive who works inside an organization with defined responsibility and authority for operational leadership. Unlike an outside advisor, a Fractional COO helps lead the people, priorities, systems, and execution required to produce results.
Defined at the start. The owner and I agree on the mandate, decision rights, areas of responsibility, expected outcomes, and how the role works with the existing leadership team.
When the role consistently demands full-time capacity and the company is ready for the cost and commitment of a permanent executive. Fractional leadership can help a company prepare for that transition.
Business Check-in
